Background: The global incidence of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and dysphoric disorder (PMDD) is increasing, with increasing suicide reports. However, the bibliometric analysis research on PMS PMDD rare. We aimed to evaluate scientific output explore their hotspots frontiers from 1945 2018 using a methodology. Methods: Articles between were retrieved Web Science Core Collection (WoSCC). used method, CiteSpace V VOSviewer analyze publication years, journals, countries, institutions, authors, hotspots, trends. plotted reference co-citation network, we keywords Results: identified 2,833 publications 2018, annual number increased time, fluctuations. Psychoneuroendocrinology published highest articles. USA ranked among countries most publications, leading institute was UNIV PENN. Keyword indicated that menstrual cycle, depression ovarian hormones whereas prevalence, systematic review, anxiety young women frontiers.
